Enough Already!

The political bickering and blame game over the weekend has been absolutely disgusting. Human beings died and others were seriously wounded. Shame on both sides, but a big extra heaping helping of disgrace for the frothing libtards. Trying to paint conservatives and Republicans as accessories to murder, without any linkage whatsoever, was and still is well beyond the pale and way worse than reprehensible.

Gabrielle Giffords shooting: Jared Loughner ‘believed he could fly’

Bryce Tierney, 22, was a school and college friend of Jared Loughner, the man charged with the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords.

. . .

He said Loughner was “more interested in this world than our reality.”

Mr Tierney said: “I saw his dream journal once. That’s the golden piece of evidence. You want to know what goes on in Jared Loughner’s mind, there’s a dream journal that will tell you everything.”

He said that Loughner sometimes approached strangers and would say “weird” things.

“He would do it because he thought people were below him and he knew they wouldn’t know what he was talking about.”

By the beginning of 2010, Loughner’s imaginary world was taking precedence over his everyday life, Mr Tierney said.

“He sort of drifted off, didn’t really care about hanging out with friends. He’d be sleeping a lot.

“He figured out he could fly.”

Jared Lee Loughner is seriously mentally ill, lost in his own fantasy world, fifteen pounds of paranoid schizophrenic in a five pounds bag. He doesn’t live in or near reality and doesn’t get his “marching orders” from Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, or the Tea Party.

Obama’s Continuing War On Arizona

This is the most despicable and ridiculous salvo yet in Obama’s all out assault on Arizona. Ratting out Arizona’s attempt to enforce existing Federal immigration law as a violation of human rights, to the U.N. Human Rights Commission, an unfunny joke of a U.N. panel packed with some of the planet’s worst human rights violators, who’s insane, crazy, warped idea was this travesty? It’s just stunningly, mind boggling, staggeringly, jaw dropping bizarre and stupid. Forget about Arizona’s state sovereignty, what the hell happened to the United States’ national sovereignty? What the [expletive deleted] is wrong with the Obama administration?

Brewer demands Clinton remove Arizona from human rights report

Arizona GOP Gov. Jan Brewer is demanding that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton remove an Arizona passage from the State Department’s report on human rights in America.

The State Department said in its report (PDF) that Arizona’s immigration law “has generated significant attention and debate at home and around the world” and that the federal government was taking action in court against it.

In a letter to Clinton (PDF), Brewer called the inclusion “downright offensive.”

“The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a State of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional,” she writes.

So, to recap, the Obama administration submitted a report to the U.N. Human Rights Council, claiming that Arizona was committing human rights violations by enforcing U.S. immigration law.

/and, as if that isn’t bad enough, some of the members of the Human Rights Council, the entity to which the report was submitted and which will stand in judgment, are such noted world champions of human rights as China, Cuba, Egypt, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, just utterly unbelievable and unconscionable

Did The CIA Get Punked By Iran?

Something’s seriously wrong with this picture.

Intrigue, But Few Facts, Surround Iranian Scientist

The case of Iranian nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri is what counter-intelligence officers like to call a “wilderness of mirrors.”

Facts are slim.

Depending on which version you read – and there are multiple ones – Amiri was kidnapped by U.S. intelligence agents a year ago while on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, defected to the United States of his own free will, or simply decided to disappear for a while. The confusion was heightened when three different videos surfaced, all featuring a man who appeared to be Amiri, making different claim: that he had been kidnapped, that he was living freely in Arizona, and that he had escaped from U.S. custody.

The mystery deepened Tuesday when he suddenly appeared at the Iranian Interests Section of the Pakistan Embassy, saying that he wanted to go home. Iranian media say he was “handed over” to the Interests Section by U.S. officials.

For its part, U.S. officials say he was not kidnapped, not held against his will, not tortured, was living here freely, and has freely chosen to return to Iran,

So how did he get here? What was he doing here? Good questions, but ones U.S. officials are not answering.

Some reports say he defected and was giving the U.S. valuable information about Iran’s nuclear program. But some former intelligence officers say he might have been a false defector.

It has happened before.

Shahram Amiri

Okay, let’s assume that Shahram Amiri is in the process of voluntarilly making his way back to Iran. First of all, if we was a defector, he’d be insane to want to return to Iran. Second, if he was abducted by the CIA and interrogated for a year before he “escaped”, would it be a smart idea to return to Iran? Why would they believe his story? Surely, at a minimum, he’d be subject to some very harsh interrogation, much harsher than any interrogation practiced by the CIA, as the Iranian intelligence agencies attempted to determine, to their satisfaction, whether he was abducted or whether he defected. The fact that the U.S. is insisting that Amiri is free to leave the United States at any time certainly doesn’t help bolster his abduction story.

/the only scenario that makes a whole lot of sense, at least to me, is that Shahram Amiri is a double agent/false defector and he knows that returning to Iran will earn him a hero’s welcome rather than probable torture or death

Lion, It’s What’s For Dinner

Would you like fries with that? Eat it before it eats you!

Phoenix restaurant, Il Vinaio, serves lion burgers for World Cup despite controversy

Will it leave you roaring for more?

A restaurant near Phoenix is hawking a $21 “lion burger” in celebration of the World Cup — despite the controversy the burger is causing.

Il Vinaio restaurant in downtown Mesa has already received a bomb threat and more than 250 angry e-mails from animal rights groups across the country.

“We thought that since the World Cup was in Africa … that the lion burger might be interesting for some of our more adventurous customers,” said owner Cameron Selogie.

The lions, he added, were raised at a free-range farm in Illinois that is regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“Most of them, when we tell them the facts, that this is farm-raised and it doesn’t hurt the endangered animals, seem pretty reasonable,” Selogie said of the customers.

Il Vinaio ordered 10 pounds of lion meat and mixed it with ground beef. The burger comes with spicy homemade chips and roasted corn on the cob.

The restaurant said it plans to serve 30 burgers by Thursday. Lion meat is uncommon but not illegal, said a spokesman for the Agriculture Department.

The “animal rights activists” really need to get over their bad old hypocritical selves. It’s called a food chain and it pays to be at the top of it. Lions are large carnivores, think of all the thousands of poor little feed animals’ lives that these people are saving by eating the lions.

/hmmm, I wonder if they taste like chicken?
