Whitewashed Jihadi, The Prequel

Last week, the mainstream media completely ignored the fact that Yonathan Melaku is a Muslim after he was arrested for lurking near the Pentagon. Now it turns out that Melaku is responsible for last year’s string of D.C. area sniper incidents too. Can you say Islamic Jihadi or is that still too politically incorrect?

Federal authorities on Thursday charged a Marine reservist in connection with 2010 shootings at the Pentagon and the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

Although he has been charged with only two shootings so far, the criminal complaint links him to three other shootings at military recruiting stations.

. . .

According to a criminal complaint, law enforcement officers searched the residence of Yonathan Melaku and found numerous documents concerning bomb-making and explosives.

And The Coast Guard Makes Five

Except for Fox News, all the other media outlets are still making everyone play guess the religion by not directly mentioning that Yonathan Melaku is a Muslim acting in the name of Islam. Oh sure, they drop hints like he chanted “Allahu Akbar” before taking his sniper shots, but they refuse to put the word Muslim into print.

/it’s easy enough to infer Melaku’s religion from the articles, because in these types of incidents the perpetrators are pretty much always Muslims, but still, some straight up, honest reporting, without deference to political correctness, would be nice

And The Coast Guard Makes Five

It looks like our mystery sniper wants to collect the complete set of military branches.

Authorities link shooting at Coast Guard center to 4 others

Cleaners at the Marine Corps museum near Quantico noticed spots on windows they thought were bird droppings one recent Sunday. They turned out to be bullet holes.

Since that discovery, the same weapon has been used four more times to fire at U.S. military facilities in Northern Virginia.

The gunman has taken aim only at night or early in the morning, when the buildings would be vacant or sparsely populated, and authorities said they don’t think he or she is out to hurt anyone. The shooter might be trying to send a message, officials said, but they don’t know what the message is. As they search for the person, the questions remain: Who and why?

“Sometimes it is just for the thrill,” said James Alan Fox, a criminologist at Northeastern University in Boston. “Sometimes it’s for the sake of power and control. Or maybe he just wants to wreak havoc on the military.”

The incidents began the night of Oct. 16. or early the next morning, when shots were fired at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle. The Pentagon was hit a few days later. A U.S. Marine recruiting center in Chantilly was next. Then the shooter returned to the Marine Corps museum.

On Wednesday, authorities announced that a fifth shooting of a U.S. military facility in Northern Virginia was part of the same spree. This time shots were fired at a U.S. Coast Guard recruiting center in Woodbridge. As in the other cases, no one was injured.

Confirmed Sniper On The Loose

How many of these types of facilities are in the area? You’d think law enforcement would have them all pretty much staked out by now. Whoever the sniper is, they’re fairly consistent as to the type of target and when they operate. It would be a good thing if the sniper was caught before they change their mind and start shooting people instead of buildings.

/anyway, the sniper still needs the Air Force, Army, and Navy to collect the complete set of service branches

Confirmed Sniper On The Loose

Here we go again. It’s a sure bet that whoever’s doing these shootings won’t stop until they get caught.

FBI Links 3 Military Shootings in DC Area

The FBI has confirmed all three military related shootings in the Washington D.C. area are connected, saying Thursday ballistic evidence shows the same weapon was used at each site.

The latest shooting occurred at a vacant Marine recruiting station in Chantilly, Virginia sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

In the early morning hours of October 19 police and FBI investigators responded in force when six shots were fired into the south side of the Pentagon, leaving bullets embedded in two different windows. Just two days earlier police in Quantico, Virginia responded to a similar attack on the Marine Corps Museum, where bullets were also fired at windows in the early morning hours.

At the time of the Pentagon shooting police said the weapon used was believed to be a high-powered rifle.

So far the FBI has yet to identify any suspects and no one has been injured in any of the attacks. An investigation is being headed up by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Obviously, whoever it is doesn’t like the U.S. military, or at least their buildings. Let’s just hope our mystery sniper(s) don’t graduate to shooting at people, although, at this point, that wouldn’t be much of a leap. It’ll be interesting to see who law enforcement eventually catch.

/not to speculate or anything, but the last D.C. snipers were arguably Muslim jihadis and certainly terrorists, just sayin’
