Operation Linda Nchi

Kenya is hardly the first country to invade Somalia and attempt to clean out the festering cesspool of Islamic criminals and terrorists and it probably won’t be the last. So far, every country that’s attempted to tame Somalia has come up empty. Based on what’s currently known of Operation Linda Nchi, I’m not particularly optimistic that Kenya will be any more successful than any other country has been in the past.

Kenyan Troops Advance in Somalia, Pursuing Al-Shabab

Kenyan forces have entered a second part of southern Somalia as part of operations against militant group al-Shabab.

Officials and witnesses confirmed to VOA Somali Service Tuesday that Kenyan troops, backed by helicopters, moved through the border town of El-Waq on Monday and are now in Somalia’s Gedo region.

Kenyan troops have also been seen near the al-Shabab-controlled town of Afmadow in the Jubba region. Residents are reported to be fleeing the town in fear of a battle.

. . .

The exact size of the Kenyan force in Somalia is not clear. Residents have reported seeing columns of 30 to 40 armored vehicles.

Al-Shabab is calling on all Somalis to defend against what it calls “the enemy.”

The last country to invade Somalia was Ethiopia, which deployed troops in 2006 to oust Islamist militants who had briefly taken over the capital. Al-Shabab emerged as the main group fighting the Ethiopians, who withdrew at the beginning of 2009.

Behold Muslims Doing What They Do Best

Another day, more Muslims rampaging and killing innocent people in the name of Islam.

Bombing of Nigerian Beer Garden Kills 25

Suspected Islamic militants threw a bomb into a beer garden in northeastern Nigeria Sunday, killing 25 people and wounding at least 12 others.

Police and witnesses say the attackers drove up to the open-air pub in Maiduguri on motorcycles and tossed a bomb into the crowd of drinkers. Some witnesses say the attackers also fired gunshots into the crowd.

Authorities are blaming Boko Haram, an Islamic fundamentalist group whose name in the Hausa language means “western education is sinful.”

Not to be outdone by the Nigerian Muslims . . .

Muslim Mobs in Egypt Attack Christian Homes, Threaten Priest

Enraged Muslims burned down several Christian-owned homes, surrounded a church and threatened to kill a priest last week in two unrelated incidents in Upper Egypt.

On Saturday (June 25) in Awlad Khalaf village, just outside Sohag, 240 miles (386 kilometers) south of Cairo, local Muslims attacked Coptic Christian Wahib Halim Atteyah, robbed him of 32,000 Saudi Riyals (US$8,530), and bulldozed his home along with the other structures on his property, according to local media. The group then raided six other Coptic-owned homes and burned them to the ground . . .

Oh Boy, Look What Israel Found

I’m shocked I tell you, shocked, the peace loving Iranians caught smuggling illegal weapons to the peaceful people of Gaza, how can this be?

Israel Seizes Egypt-Bound Ship With Arms On Board

Israel announced Tuesday that its naval forces have intercepted and seized a cargo ship carrying weapons from Turkey to Egypt, adding that it believed the arms shipment originated in Iran and was destined for the Palestinian militants in Gaza.

Israeli officials said the ship was seized some 200 nautical miles west off the Israeli coast. An initial search of the seized vessel uncovered three containers loaded with arms and officials indicating the ship would be searched thoroughly after it reaches Israel.

The seized cargo ship was identified as “Victoria,” which according to Israeli officials had initially set off from the Syrian port of Lattakia to Mercin in Turkey. They said the vessel was seized when it was heading towards the Egyptian port of Alexandria from Turkey.

The Israeli officials, however, stressed that their initial investigations indicated that neither Turkey nor Egypt were involved in the arms shipment. They believe the countries involved in the shipment were Iran and Syria.

“The only certain thing is the source of the weaponry was Iran, and there was a Syrian relay station as well. This is the main axis that provides the forces of terror in Lebanon and Gaza,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday.

Now, why on Earth would Hamas, the government of Gaza, need sophisticated anti-ship missiles and why would Iran be supplying them? Nevermind, that was a rhetorical question, Iran and Hamas both want to wipe Israel off the map and exterminate all the Jews.

Naughty, Naughty Hezbollah

A U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon has issued indictments related to the 2005 assasination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. There about a 100% chance these indictments will implicate Hezbollah in the mass murder. There’s only one problem. So far, the indictments are sealed, so the waiting continues.

U.N. concludes probe of Hariri assassination

A U.N. prosecutor Monday submitted a sealed indictment against suspects in the 2005 assassination of a former Lebanese prime minister, concluding an investigation that has cast suspicion on top Syrian leaders and Hezbollah militants and contributed to the collapse this month of Lebanon’s pro-Western government.

Daniel Bellemare, the U.N. tribunal’s Canadian prosecutor, filed the indictment under seal late Monday before the court’s pretrial judge, Daniel Fransen. It could be several weeks before the identities of the suspects are known and about a year before a trial would be held.

The case has roiled Lebanese politics, with anticipation that the prosecutor would name members of Hezbollah in connection with the bombing attack that killed the former prime minister, Rafiq al-Hariri, and 22 others.

Hezbollah has denied involvement. Hasan Nasrallah, head of the Hezbollah movement, has said he would not allow Hezbollah members to be arrested.

Muslim Problem, What Muslim Problem?

It’s Islamic Jihad’s 23rd anniversary today and they held a little celebration, lots of Islamic fun was had by all!

Islamic Jihad leader: Israel must be wiped out of existence

Tens of thousands of supporters of the militant Islamic Jihad movement rallied in the streets of Gaza on Friday, chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

Young men and boys wearing white T-shirts with a slogan in the shape of a rifle carried portraits of militants killed in combat, under the black flags of Islamic Jihad.

Ramadan Shallah, the group’s exiled chief, currently residing in Damascus, sent a recorded message marking the anniversary of the assassination of the group’s leader Fathi Shiqaqi in Malta in 1995, by presumed Israeli secret agents.

“Israel will not bring peace to the region, it will only bring war and destruction and therefore, the slogan of all should be that Israel must be wiped out of existence,” said Shallah, who is on a United States wanted list.

Senior leaders of the ruling Islamist group, Hamas, joined the open-air gathering, the largest for years in honor of Islamic Jihad with up to 100,000 attending according to its organizers.

Hamas allowed the group to use city terrain it usually reserves exclusively for its own rallies, and Hamas forces provided security for the parade by its smaller rival.

Unrequited Muslim Outreach

Now seriously, ask yourself, do these people strike you as being members of a Religion of Peace, content to harmoniously coexist alongside Israel (or the United States for that matter), abiding by a rationally negotiated, equitable two state solution? Do these people seem even remotely interested in Obama’s “outreach to Muslims”?

Of course, the answer to both questions is hell no! These Muslims are brainwashed from birth to annihilate Israel, kill every Jew, convert or kill every infidel, including you and your entire family, and destroy your civilization and way of life. The only reason they haven’t accomplished all these goals is that they’re not strong enough, yet.

But don’t worry, Western appeasement only gives them much contemptuously appreciated strength and encouragement. It’s an undisputed fact that Islam has declared war on the West multiple times in recent history. Whether you want to fight them or even take the threat seriously, it doesn’t matter. They’re deadly serious and they will take the fight to you. The evidence is so overwhelmingly pervasive to the point where you can’t rationally ignore it.

/decide, it’s a win or lose, bang or whimper dichotomy

When Petulant Allies Act Up Like The Enemy

Pakistan is upset because we chased terrorists across their border in hot pursuit. Nevermind that they don’t control their own border and the Taliban have unconstrained sanctuary in Pakistani territory that Pakistan doesn’t control either.

Pakistan Halts NATO Supplies After Attack

Pakistan has blocked a vital supply route for NATO forces in Afghanistan, after a cross-border NATO air strike that Pakistan says killed three of its soldiers.

Supply trucks and fuel tankers for international troops were lined up at the Torkham border post in Pakistan’s Khyber tribal region Thursday, hours after the NATO raid – the fourth reported by Pakistani officials in recent days. The bulk of supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan move through Pakistan.

Pakistani officials say the convoys were stopped for security reasons, but did not give details.

Earlier Thursday, Pakistan’s military said NATO helicopters attacked a paramilitary checkpoint in the Kurram tribal region near the Afghan border. A military spokesman says Pakistani troops fired warning shots at the helicopters, which responded by firing missiles that killed three soldiers and wounded three others.

Pakistani officials reported a second NATO air strike nearby, but there were no injuries.

NATO says its helicopters briefly entered Pakistani airspace Thursday, while targeting militants trying to attack a coalition base in Afghanistan’s Paktia province.

NATO says after the initial strike, coalition aircraft came under fire from across the border in Pakistan. Coalition helicopters then entered Pakistani airspace again in self-defense, and killed several armed individuals.

An Election Worthy Of Tammany Hall

This weekend’s parliamentary election in Afghanistan would make Boss Tweed blush. You can try and put lipstick on the pig, but it’s quite obvious that the election results are overwhelmingly fraudulent and illegitimate.

Election Complaints Overwhelm Afghan Voter Commission

Afghanistan’s U.N.-backed Electoral Complaints Commission says it has received nearly 3,000 formal complaints about Saturday’s parliamentary elections, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the vote.

The commission says it received more than 1,300 of those complaints since election day, while the rest came before the vote. Tuesday was the official deadline for Afghans to file complaints.

Shortly after the polls closed Saturday, the ECC said it received allegations of fraud and misconduct that included late-opening polling centers, ballot shortages and voter registration fraud.

Ahmad Nader Nadery is the head of the Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan, which was one of the monitors of the vote.

“Frauds did happen in different forms. We have seen ballot stuffing, proxy votes, underage voting and also multiple voting,” said Nadery. “The most serious one is the ballot stuffing, our observers have observed in around 280 centers, in 28 provinces where the ballot stuffing did occur.”

Some election observers also voiced concerns that local warlords intimidated or coerced voters in some instances.

Afghan election commission reports new evidence of serious fraud

Internal reports from Afghanistan’s Independent Election Commission on Tuesday provide new evidence of serious fraud in Afghanistan’s parliamentary elections, including turnouts that exceeded 100 percent in many southeastern districts under the control of the Taliban or other militants.

One district in Paktika province recorded 626 percent voter turnout, according to reports obtained by McClatchy Newspapers.

The new indications of fraud appear to strengthen allegations of widespread intimidation, vote rigging and violence that independent Afghan poll monitors began making almost immediately after the polls closed on Saturday and cast new doubts on the commission’s assertion that it knew of no instances in which commission staff members stuffed ballots.

Oh Boy, Look What Israel Found

Um, after the last war in 2006, wasn’t the United Nations supposed to prevent Hezbollah from rearming again?

Israel publishes ‘proof’ of growing Hizbullah arsenal

ISRAEL HAS published detailed intelligence information that military chiefs say is proof of a massive build-up of Hizbullah firepower deep inside the Lebanese villages close to Israel’s northern border.

Israel says that UN Security Council Resolution 1701 which ended the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war and banned the transfer of rockets and weapons to Hizbullah has been largely ineffective. Israeli intelligence says the Shia group now has an arsenal of more than 40,000 rockets supplied via Syria and Iran and thousands of fighters deployed along the border.

As an example, Israeli intelligence officials showed reporters maps and aerial surveillance images showing specific buildings in the village of Al-Hiyam that Israel says are being used as military facilities for weapons and missiles.

Col Ronen Marley revealed previously classified photographs to show what he said was a unit of 90 Hizbullah militants operating in Al-Hiyam, where they were storing weapons close to hospitals and schools.

“Hizbullah is establishing itself with increasing strength in the villages,” said Col Marley.

“Every day they are collecting significant intelligence on our forces along the border and every day they are engaged in digging, building and laying communications infrastructure to prepare themselves for war.

Lieut Col Avital Leibovitch, an Israeli military spokesperson said: “We are talking about more than 100 villages that have become military camps for Hizbullah and we see that civilians in these villages have become Hizbullah’s human shields if there is war in the future.”

Who’s On The Offensive?

While the ISAF has delayed its much publicized Kandahar offensive, once again, the Taliban aren’t waiting around on the defensive. The Taliban continue to attack the ISAF, and they’re attacking them where they live, in broad daylight.

Afghan Taliban attacks NATO airfield, wounding two troops

Afghan Taliban-linked militants launched a bold daytime attack on a NATO airfield outside the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday, setting off a car bomb and firing light weapons and rocket-propelled grenades in a battle that killed at least eight militants and wounded two coalition personnel.

The attack comes at a delicate time for the NATO-led International Security and Assistance Force (ISAF), just days before US General David Petraeus arrives to assume command after the ouster of US General Stanley McChrystal for insubordination. Coalition casualties are also climbing: as The Christian Science Monitor reported, June has been the deadliest month of the nine-year war for coalition troops, with 101 soldiers killed.

Wednesday’s battle began when a car bomb went off at the entrance to Jalalabad airfield, 78 miles east of the Afghan capital of Kabul near the border with Pakistan. The explosion was followed by a 30-minute gun battle with militants, says the Associated Press. Eight attackers were killed and two coalition personnel were wounded, including one Afghan soldier and one international soldier.

The New York Times reports that the attack was similar in style to the attack on Bagram Air Base in May, when a suicide bomber driving a car detonated his explosives at a gate to the base, clearing the way for Taliban fighters to enter the complex.

The BBC reports that militants attacked the Jalalabad base from multiple directions in what it calls “a commando-style raid,” a more sophisticated tactic that the Taliban has increasingly relied on to deliver heavier civilian and military casualties.

When Taliban Attack

Although, so far, the Taliban haven’t been able to cause any substantial damage or casualties or successfully breach the perimeter of any of the major ISAF bases that they’ve brazenly attacked recently, they have shown sophistication in planning the attacks and they’ve been extremely persistent. All it will take is for the Taliban to breach the perimeter of just one of these bases and get their militants inside to cause a lot of mayhem and score a huge propaganda victory, along the lines of the Viet Cong getting inside the wall of the U.S. embassy in Saigon during the Tet Offensive. Tactically, it was nothing, strategically, it meant everything, in terms of propaganda.

/all I can say is that it’s a good thing that the Taliban don’t have access to any air power, they’re giving our coalition forces enough trouble on the ground

Murder Okay, Watching Soccer, Not So Much

Here’s just another classic example of the utter depravity that is the sick and twisted religion of Islam.

Somali militants threaten World Cup TV viewers

Somali militants have threatened football fans they will be publicly flogged – or worse – if they are caught watching the World Cup on TV.

Gangs of Islamists are reported to be patrolling the areas they control looking for people watching games.

Dedicated fans are watching matches in secret, or in the few areas controlled by government forces.

On Saturday militants killed two people as they attacked a house where people were watching a game.

Militant group Hizbul-Islam also arrested 10 others at the house north-east of the capital Mogadishu where fans were watching the game between Argentina and Nigeria.

‘Mad men’

A spokesman for the group, Sheikh Mohamed Abdi Aros said the rest of Somalia should respect their ban on the World Cup.

“We are warning all the youth of Somalia not to dare watch these World Cup matches. It is a waste of money and time and they will not benefit anything or get any experience by watching mad men jumping up and down,” he said.

Okay then, watching soccer is a waste of money and time, but hunting down and murdering soccer fans, that’s Islamic productivity. Yeah, that make sense. Then again, Muslims kill people over cartoons in the name of Allah. Islam is an intrinsically violent religion, so it’s not really a surprise.

/the only marginally redeeming social value in preventing soccer fans from watching the World Cup is that it saves them from the incessant vuvuzela torture
