Saudi woman sentenced to 10 lashes for driving car, as religious establishment toughens stance

A Saudi woman was sentenced Tuesday to be lashed 10 times with a whip for defying the kingdom’s prohibition on female drivers, the first time a legal punishment has been handed down for a violation of the longtime ban in the ultraconservative Muslim nation.

Normally, police just stop female drivers, question them and let them go after they sign a pledge not to drive again. But dozens of women have continued to take to the roads since June in a campaign to break the taboo.

It’s bad enough that the Saudi oil ticks are so backward that they make their women wear bags in public, but now they’re going to flog a woman, for driving? How barbaric is that? Where’s the outcry from the feminists and human rights activists? If this was happening in Israel, there’d already be a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning it.

South Carolina Woman Buys Wooden iPad for $180

A woman from South Carolina was looking to score a sweet deal on an iPad, but what she got instead was a block of wood with a photo of an iPad pasted to the top.

Ms. Ashley Mcdowell, from Spartanburg, South Carolina was purchasing dinner from a local McDonald’s when she was approached by two men in the parking lot, who wanted to sell her either an iPad or a laptop.

While showing her a brand new iPad, the men explained that they had purchased the iPads in bulk, and were now selling them for the discounted price of $300 from the trunk of their rimless Impala. McDowell explained that she only had $180 in cash with her, and the men generously agreed to accept the money.

The men handed her a Fed Ex box, and rather than checking it out at the scene, McDowell drove home. When she opened the box, she didn’t find an iPad – instead, she found a piece of wood that had been painted black and decorated with an Apple logo.

Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2011: Who Is to Blame for Its Popularity?

The 2011 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest was won by a familiar face, as it was Joey Chestnut taking home his fifth consecutive Mustard Belt. In 10 minutes, Chestnut finished off 62 hot dogs, six short of the world record he set in 2009.

No wonder they call him “Jaws.” His parents must be very proud.

As is always the case, there were plenty of people on hand to take in the scene at Coney Island, and many more took it in on ESPN. I haven’t found or heard any exact figures, but last year’s contest drew 40,000 spectators and was watched by nearly 1.7 million people on TV. One assumes those numbers only increased this year.

Here we go again, back to the 7th century. It’s bad enough that these perpetually angry, ignorant and intolerant Islamic barbarians sentenced a women to death by stoning, for adultery, now they’ve sentenced a woman to death for blasphemy. Just how backward and uncivilized can a religion get?

Christian woman sentenced to death in Pakistan for blasphemy

A mother of two has become the first Christian woman in Pakistan to be sentenced to death for blasphemy.

Asia Bibi, a field labourer in her thirties, was handed the sentence by a court of sessions in Punjab province on Sunday evening.

She was found guilty of committing blasphemy against her fellow farm workers in the village of Ittanwali during a heated discussion about religion in June last year.

Some of the women workers had reportedly been pressuring Bibi to renounce her Christian faith and accept Islam. During the discussion, Bibi responded by speaking of how Jesus had died on the cross for the sins of mankind and asking the Muslim women what Muhammad had done for them.

The Muslim women took offence and began to beat Bibi and she was locked in a room by some men. According to partners of Release International, a mob reportedly formed and “violently abused” her and her children.

The charity, which supports persecuted Christians, said that blasphemy charges had been brought against Bibi because of pressure from local Muslim leaders.

Release International’s chief executive, Andy Dipper, expressed his shock at Sunday’s ruling.

“Pakistan has crossed a line in passing the death sentence on a woman for blasphemy,” he said.

The absolute intolerance and all consuming hate of these Islamofacists is shameful and sickening. Sentencing a woman to death for blasphemy, in the 21st century, are you kidding? No wonder Pakistan is such a [expletive deleted]hole epicenter of international terrorism. Can you imagine what would would happen if a court in a predominately Christian country sentenced a Muslim woman to death for blasphemy against Christianity? Not like that would ever happen, but Muslims worldwide would seethe and riot like the culturally inferior rabble that they are.
